Experience opera under the stars at one of the most beautiful locations in France. Opéra en Plein Air presents Verdi's "La Traviata" in a production staged by the iconic Arielle Dombasle.

Set in Paris of the 1850's, "La Traviata" is the tragic story of the ailing courtesan, Violetta, who finds sincere love, but abandons it to save her beloved nobleman, Alfredo from scandal. The opera includes some of Verdi's most well‐known and moving arias and duets.

Location
World Heritage Site, the spectacular Château de Fontainebleau has been an important site for French history for over eight hundred years. Visitors can appreciate the enormous expanse of gardens, or enter the castle and explore the galleries of art, furniture, and artifacts.

Castle: open daily 9:30 to 6:00 pm (last entrance 5:15 pm) Admission is not included in the opera ticket price.
Courtyard and gardens: open daily 9 am to 7 pm
Park: open daily, free admission
