Jordi Savall Concert: Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona

Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations will perform works by Joan Baptista Cabanilles, Antonio Caldara, Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, Matthew Locke, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, and anonymous Catalan composers this season at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona's famous Opera House.

Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations have succeeded in turning serious music, played on period instruments, into a product for general consumption by applying a skilful blend of rigour, virtuosity, curiosity and proximity to a musical repertory spanning six centuries. This program focuses on the year 1714, when Barcelona was besieged by the troops of Philip V, an event of which we are currently commemorating the 3rd centenary.

In some areas of the Gran Teatre del Liceu it is possible to be seated with a partially obstructed view of the stage. The Gran Teatre del Liceu recommends Zone 2 for the finest and completely unobstructed view of the performance. The stage is not visable from seats starting in row 2 of Zone 8. A monitor is provided for following the performance in this section. Only available for operas.
