Popular at the time when it was composed, Vivaldi's 'Farnace' slipped into oblivion until the last quarter of the 20th century when it emerged from obscurity.
Jordi Savall is a man of many skills: performer, pedagogue, researcher and instigator of musical and cultural projects. But what stands out in all these facets is his tireless work to reinstate and popularize ancient music. He remains as faithful as possible to the sources and displays a curiosity that has led him to rescue from oblivion a rich musical heritage from the Mediterranean, Europe and all over the world.
In this concert, Savall and his ensemble Le Concert des Nations presents a selection of arias and orchestral suites from Vivaldi's opera.
