About the Event

Delight in Reynaldo Hahn's first light opera, combining the spice of Parisian operetta with the sweetness of American musical comedy.

The work centers on the life of a pretty market gardener, Ciboulette, who is determined to earn both success and happiness. In her pursuits, she encounters a host of prototypical characters -- both humble and distinguished -- from the Paris of the Belle Époque.
