EU Youth Orchestra at Grafenegg Chateau: Summer Concert

About the Event

Made up of the best and brightest of the 28 member states of the EU’s young musicians, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) sets a consistently high bar when it comes to its performances. Grafenegg is no exception and the ensemble’s past performances in the historic chateau’s grounds have consistently ranked among the highlights of the summer season.

This year, the orchestra—conducted by Semyon Bychkov—will showcase the exceptional playing of young Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang with a programme made up of two stunning works testing the instrument to its very limits: Max Bruch’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra Nr. 1 in G minor and Dmitry Shostakovich’s Symphony Nr. 4 in C minor. Members of the EUYO will round what promises to be a special evening off with an impromptu late night session.
