Contrasts: Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin

About the Event

Experience a special concert with works by Joseph Haydn and Alban Berg in the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie Berlin.

Opposites attract and Josph Haydn is known to be a master of contrasts. Probably originally created as incidental music, his Symphonies numbers 59 and 60 play with interruptions, deceptions, irritations, and strong rhythmic changes. 'Il distratto' is full of humor and wit, whilst the 'Fire' Symphony offers a dramatically charged atmosphere. Contrasts are also found in Alban Berg's 'Lyric Suite', in a mysterious way the composer hides quotations and allusions in his music and brings the style of the Second Viennese School to the stage.
