Budapest Festival Orchestra: Tivoli Concert Hall

About the Event

Get ready for a special music experience of this year’s 'Summer Classical' at Tivoli Concert Hall.

In 2008 the music magazine Gramophone named the Budapest Festival Orchestra one of the 10 best orchestras in the world — a sentiment that is repeated in reviews from all over the world! The orchestra was founded in 1983 by Iván Fischer — and he remains the orchestra's chief conductor and artistic director.
Berlioz's song cycle Les nuit d'été describes in a romantic way the many aspects of love: the young innocent infatuation, the loss and the rediscovered love. The songs are sung by the Swedish soprano Miah Persson, who has made a name for herself worldwide as an outstanding concert singer.
Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony with its stormy emotions and intense sensitivity, which have ensured her immortality, rounds off the evening.
