Allegri's Miserere: Sacred Music in Notre‐Dame de Paris

About the Event

Feed your spirit with the ethereal sounds of sacred music in Notre‐Dame de Paris Cathedral.

Having been performed at the Sixtine Chapel for Holy Week, the celebrated Miserere, composed by Gregorio Allegri in 1638, was closely guarded by the Vatican, which prohibited the reproduction of the work in order to preserve its unique character. Mirroring this emblematic a capella work, the Adult Choir of the Maîtrise Notre‐Dame de Paris will explore a range of rich and contrasted works from the most renowned composers of vocal music of the 19th and 20th centuries.
