Alba Ventura, piano: Summer at the Palau

About the Event

Barcelona‐born pianist Alba Ventura performs works by Mozart, Ravel and De Falla in her hometown.

Alba Ventura began her musical education at the early age of five. Later she became a pupil of Alicia de Larrocha at the Marshall Academy, where she further studied of the Spanish repertoire and contemporary composers such as Xavier Montsalvatge, some of whose works she recorded at only eleven years old. A scholarship enabled her to pursue her studies with Dimitri Bashkirov in Madrid and later in London, advised by Vladimir Ashkenazy.

Under the batons of Tamas Vásáry, Christopher Hogwood or Antoni Ros Marbà among others, she has performed in major European halls, alongside orchestras such as the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Cataluña, the Bournemouth Sinfonietta, the Hallé Orchestra, the National Symphonic Orchestra of Hungary, the Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Auckland Philharmonia.
