A Flowering Tree: Théatre du Châtelet
About the Event
Explore the rich harmonic complexity of John Adams' opera, at the Théatre du Châtelet in Paris.
Commissioned to honor Mozart's 250 anniversary, John Adams' 'A Flowering Tree' (2006) is inspired by a southern Indian folk tale. Like Mozart's 'Magic Flute', Adams' work deals with the theme of redemption through the transformation of the individual and 'the emergence of a moral conscience', to use the composer’s own words.

The 'horseshoe' shape of the historic Théâtre du Châtelet results in partially blocked views from some seats. The different prices take these disturbances into account.
