Julia fell in love with her cousin when she was a little girl. No other man in the future is able to arouse her interest. After several years two strangers suddenly appear shortly after each other claiming to be Roderich.
This entertaining Berlin Operetta combines humour and great emotion, narrow mindedness and exotic wishful thinking. Popular dances of the 20s alternate with moving melodies. The Berlin premiere in 1921 was a worldwide success for the composer Eduard Künneke.
