Jon Lord, of Deep Purple fame, joins the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and conductor Clark Rundell in a performance of Lord's own compositions at the Summer Pops.

Jon Lord has forged a career with rock and classical music running in parallel, from the 1969 iconic Concerto for Group and Orchestra to the Durham Concerto, which he recorded with the Phil two years ago. Lord will perform Concerto for Group and Orchestra, an epic event merging the best of both worlds, as ground-breaking today as when it was created forty years ago.

The programme also includes songs from To Notice Such Things, Jon Lord’s upcoming CD release.
