At this year's Spitalfields Summer Festival, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and six dancers will perform David Sawer's "Rumpelstiltskin" at the Shoreditch Church in London.

A miller boasts to the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold... David Sawer and Richard Jones create a new fable for our times, based on the Grimms’ well known tale and told through dance, music and action alone. Sawer delivers a score of glittering brilliance and rhythmic energy to express the story’s themes of transformation, ritual and revelation while Olivier and Tony Award-winning director Richard Jones and designer Stewart Laing create a tableau of moving pictures to bring Rumpelstiltskin to thrilling new life.
