ABOUT THE EVENT

The Spitalfields Summer Festival hosts a solo performance of early 20th-century and contemporary works, described by Melvyn Tan as a reflection on Spitalfields itself.

At the heart of the programme are recently composed selections from Shivereens, a collection of piano miniatures written over the past 15 years by composer Julian Grant, while living in Hong Kong, Japan and China. Some of these pieces will be performed for the first time.
