Music Festival Grafenegg: Grimaud, Ashkenazy, Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Hélène Grimaud’s international fame as a piano virtuoso is, naturally, first and foremost based on her outstanding musical abilities. Secondly, it is due to her tireless efforts for social projects.

The French artist does not shy away from any challenge, no matter what area. The "way to the heart of a piece demands absolute dedication – intellectually, emotionally and psychologically", as she once put it in an interview. Vladimir Ashkenazy, who started his career as one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century, is an understanding partner for Hélène Grimaud on the conductor’s stand.

The evening’s guest orchestra is the Sydney Symphony Orchestra - an outstanding orchestra that rarely performs in Europe and is at home in the most famous opera houses in the world.
