About 'Opéra de la Bastille'
L'Opéra de la Bastille, conceived by the Canadian-Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, is a modern opera house in Paris, France. It was inaugurated on July 13th 1989. It houses the Opéra National de Paris and was designed to replace the Palais Garnier, this however, did not occur. Operas are still performed in this house, which is also used for ballet performances. Its transparent façades and the use of identical materials for both the interiors and the exteriors make of it a wonderful and modern building.
