Musica a Palazzo: Love Duets
| Day/Time: | Friday, January 9th 2009. 20:30 |
| Venue: | Palazzo Barbarigo-Minotto, Venice |
About the event
This programme comprises a selection of some of the most beautiful love duets in the operatic repertoire! The duets depict the various aspects of love: the passionate love of Floria Tosca (Tosca), the fatherly love of Giorgio Germont (La Traviata), or the Rigoletto for Gilda, jealousy (La Bohéme), love as a means to self-affirmation (Don Giovanni) or a the extreme sacrifice of Violetta (La Traviata).
In the original formula of "Musica a Palazzo" even the "Duetti d'Amore" is itinerant: the first part takes place in the Tiepolo room and the second in the room with the Alcove (balcony). Each act is staged and the artists interact with the public. The evening's programme is varied, alternating between duets and instrumental pieces, from chamber music to the opera repertoire.
Musica a Palazzo's Love Duets is a great voyage into the classical music of the 19th century!
