About the event 'Music Festival Grafenegg: NDR Sinfonieorchester, Widmann, Oelze, Dohnányi'

Jörg Widmann plays the solo part of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s fragrantly cheerful Clarinet Concerto, which opens a splendid concert evening with the NDR Symphony Orchestra and Christoph von Dohnányi.

The second part of the programme features Gustav Mahler’s Fourth Symphony, a key work of late Romanticism. Referred to as a "symphonic humoresque" by the composer himself, the hearty fun is less perceivable than the bittersweet irony that is inherent in so many of Mahler’s works. German soprano Christiane Oelze sings the solo part.

Admission to the additional events (i.e. pre-concert talks, préludes and soirée) is included in the ticket of the main concert:
