Music Festival Grafenegg: CBSO, Grubinger, Nelsons
ABOUT THE EVENT
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra guarantees unconventional programmes. Andris Nelsons, the Latvian rising star in the conductors’ scene, presents an exciting evening.
Following Richard Wagner's overture, the orchestra will perform "Frozen in time", a piece in which Israeli composer Avner Dorman captured snapshots of the geological evolutionary history of the earth. The fact that earth finally became "our" world, divided into an "old" and a "new" one at the end of the 19th century, is captured by Antonín Dvořák in his unforgettable Symphony No. 9.
The Prélude featuring Martin Grubinger and the Supercussion Vienna ensemble also promises to be a resounding musical experience.
