ABOUT THE EVENT
The unique Mozart Dinner Concert offers a taste of life in Mozart's Salzburg, with its colourful costumes and culinary delights.
The candlelit Baroque Hall, glorious music performed by artists in period costume and a superb dinner inspired by 18th century recipes - the authentic concerts are certain to take you back to the age of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Enjoy his most popular compositions by candlelight in the famous Baroque Salon of the Stiftskeller St. Peter. Music is performed by Salzburg artists in historical costumes, and the dinner menu is prepared as it was in the time of Mozart.
The musical programme is performed by the "Amadeus Consort Salzburg", two singers and five instrumentalists who specialise in the works of Mozart. The three-part concert programme includes arias, duets and overtures from ‘Don Giovanni’, ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ and ‘The Magic Flute’, as well as a rendition of ‘A little night-music’.
The Mozart Dinner is prepared according to traditional 17th and 18th century recipes and is served during the pauses in the concert.
Menu:
- One piece of typical Salzburg white bread with butter
- Cream soup with the fine taste of lemons and rosemary-quark-dumpling
- Breast of roasted capaun (a kind of chicken) on top of port wine glace served with potato-pumpkin dumpling, semolina strudel and vegetables from Pater Prior´s garden
- Semi-frozen parfait of honey
(Vegetarian dinner available upon request.)
