Ludwig: Beethoven Symphony No. 5 at Salle Pleyel

About the Event

The Orchestre National d'Ile de France and violinist Veronika Eberle perform selected works of Ludwig van Beethoven under the baton of Yoel Levi.

The soloist dominates the orchestra in Beethoven's Violin Concerto, composed in 1806, by defying the laws of gravity to create the impression of superiority, even if the violinist does not flaunt with demonstrative virtuosity. In Beethoven's popular Fifth Symphony, written between 1805 and 1807, the blows of fate knock emphatically at the door of the first movement to state that after this work, music will never be as it was before. Heroic Romanticism was once and for all entering a new musical Europe impressed by such a sense of drama, power, and an almost eloquent science.
