About the event
LISZTen IN RAIDINGBeside Franz Liszt also two masters of the classical period are part of the programme: Ludwig v. Beethoven, from whom Liszt received the famous "Weihekuss" in his youth in Vienna and from whom he was very impressed during his whole life and Franz Schubert, from his songs Liszt got the inspiration for the famous transcriptions. A lot of other works are completing the programme: opera paraphrases about works by Mozart, Verdi, Tschaikowsky and Borodin as well as Russian-Orthodox songs and virtuous pieces of the romantic period.
Numerous international stars are performing at the Liszt Festival Raiding 2008: the famous pianists Rudolf Buchbinder, Tzimon Barto and Konstantin Scherbakov, the piano duos Boris Berezovsky & Brigitte Engerer and Johannes & Eduard Kutrowatz, the young star-violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the chamber choir of the Philharmonie Novosibirsk "Markells Voices", the New Zealand tenor Keith Lewis with his partner Melvyn Tan, the famous German actress Gudrun Landgrebe as well as the Vienna Academy under Martin Haselböck with the soloist Gottlieb Wallisch.
