ABOUT THE EVENT
Take this unique opportunity to enjoy one of today's most renowned conductors, Japan's Kazushi Ono at the Auditori of Barcelona with works by Wagner, Debussy and Rimsky-Korsakov.
The Siegfried "Idyll" is the only symphonic poem by German composer Richard Wagner. Written as a gift to his wife Còsima at the birth of their son Siegfried. The work sets out with the love theme between the hero and Brunhilda that the composer used many years later in the opera of the same title.
Another poem, this one for dance, is "Jeux", by Claude Debussy, commissioned by Diaghilev for the Russian Ballets and one of the most daring and, therefore, essential pieces in the composer's catalogue and of the first half of the twentieth century.
"Schéhérazade" by Rimsky-Korsakov was also used by Diaghilev for the benefit of his company. The symphonic suite is based on different episodes from the "Thousand and One Nights" and recalls the Eastern essence of these tales through captivating music.
Experience this richly moving programme at the Auditori in Barcelona.
