In a co-production with the State Musical Comedy Theatre St. Petersburg, Emmerich Kalman's operetta "Die Bajadere" will be performed at the Budapest Festival 2009.
The Indian and arrogant prince Radjami falls in love with a singer and dancer of the Pariser Théâtre Châtelet. In order to temper his arrogance she wills in to marry him but eventually snubs him in public. In the end, both will realise their affection to each other...
