Budapest Festival: Roma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra
ABOUT THE EVENT
Artistic director Mátyás Boros Jr. leads the Roma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra in a concert of works by Albinoni, Bach, and Weiner at this year's Budapest Spring Festival.
The ensemble formed in 1990 by young Roma musicians graduating from the Academy of Music brought a new colour to the range of chamber orchestras. The Roma Virtuosi have a broad repertoire with the main emphasis on major works of classical music. Many composers have written and dedicated works to the ensemble. The members of the orchestra are also celebrated stars of the world’s concert halls as soloists. They have given concerts in many countries, including Austria, Italy, Germany, Holland, Sweden and Norway.
