Budapest Festival: Hungarian Passion
ABOUT THE EVENT
The ELTE Béla Bartók Choir and University Concert Orchestra perform works of contemporary composer György Orbán, including his "Hungarian Passion" at St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest.
The former leader of the orchestra and choir, Gábor Baross did a great deal to promote contemporary Hungarian music. He encouraged the best composers to write new works, supported young musicians, and brought audiences closer to modern music with wonderful performances. This concert gives a glimpse into the ensemble’s close and fruitful relationship with composer György Orbán.
Experience contemporary Hungarian music at this concert of the Budapest Spring Festival 2010.
Conductor: László Kovács
With: Ildikó Cserna, Xavier Rivadeneira, Krisztián Cser, Viktor Massányi – voice, Levente Bakó, Tamás Tarkó – trumpet
