Berlin Philharmonic Violins
ABOUT THE EVENT
The Budapest Spring Festival 2010 presents a concert of the Berlin Philharmonic Violins in the unique setting of the Urania National Cinema Palace.
The ensemble was formed of violinists from the world famous symphony orchestra by Laurentius Dinca in 1993. It was a special challenge to create a full sound with only violins, as the only other instrument used occasionally is the piano. Naturally, most of the repertoire is made up of arrangements by such excellent musicians as Gerhard Tittel, Wolfram Heicking and pianist Harry Ermer. The unique sound has inspired many composers and pieces have been written for the Berlin Philharmonic Violins by Helmut Eder, Herbert Baumann, Roland Leistner-Mayer, Jacques Bondon, Dan Dediu and John Hearn.
Enjoy the unique sound of this highly skilled ensemble in Budapest.
