In 2012, opera fans do not need to travel to Bayreuth to enjoy the unique performances of the Bayreuth Festival.
After more than 50 years, Gran Teatre del Liceu will once again host the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra, Chorus, and Soloists on five evenings in September. During the Bayreuth Festival in Barcelona, concert versions of Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman), Lohengrin and Tristan und Isolde will be performed by the Bayreuth musicians at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

In some areas of the Gran Teatre del Liceu it is possible to be seated with a partially obstructed view of the stage. The Gran Teatre del Liceu recommends Zone 2 for the finest and completely unobstructed view of the performance. The stage is not visable from seats starting in row 2 of Zone 8. A monitor is provided for following the performance in this section. Only available for operas.

, SoloistRobert Holl was born in Rotterdam where he studied with Jan Veth and David Hollestelle. In 1971 he won the First Prize at the "International Vocal Competition” in s’-Hertogenbosch, followed by studies with Hans Hotter in Munich. In 1972 he won the First Prize at the "International Music Competition of the German Broadcasting Association” (ARD) in Munich which resulted in TV/Radio engagements and orchestral concerts. Between 1973 and 1975 he was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich.
