About 'Auditori de Barcelona'
Designed by Rafael Moneo, the 42,000 square meter Auditori in Barcelona opened in 1999. The building's sober, modern exterior opens into a tremendous, naturally lit atrium. The acoustics of the three concert halls within the Auditori were carefully engineered by specialist Higini Arau. The building is part of a musical complex including the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and Museu de la Música, making the Auditori the focus of various aspects of musical life in the city.
