About the event"Die Entführung aus dem Serail" (The Abduction from the Seraglio or Il Seraglio) is one of Mozart's most entertaining Singspiel in three acts, and was premiered at the world-renown Burgtheater in Vienna 1782. The beautiful Spanish Constanza, her maid Blonde and the servant Pedrillo are captured after a piracy, and brought to a slave-trade market. Fortunately, Pasha Selim acquires the three captives and brings them to his palace.
The German libretto is by Christoph Friedrich Bretzner with adaptations by Gottlieb Stephanie.
