Whitchcraft of voice and trumpet

Works for sopran, trumpet and organ became most fashionable in the 17th and 18th century. The lyrics often spoke about war or had festive character. The trumpet was known mainly as the instrument for military or court music and gradually was discovered for artificial music.

The programm of the concert "Verdi prati" is taken from the opera "Alcina" by Händel. This "Femme fatale" attracted knigths on her island and bewhitched them into animals, stones and waves. But looses her whitchcraft as she is confronted with true emotions when she falls in love with Ruggiero... The aria "Verdi prati" sings Ruggiero when he reminds to his love Bradamante and departs from the beaties of the magical island with melancholy.
