On the occasion of the International Dance Festival 2012 the Ballet School Accademia Teatro alla Scala performs in Rome!

New Star opens with a true classic of the Romantic repertoire: La Bayadère by Marius Petipa, created in 1877 to music by Ludwig Minkus. It follows Larmes blanches by Angelin Preljocaj: on a stage two pairs of dancers evoke the dark traps of life, alternating mechanical gestures and round movements. The show closes with Evening Songs by Jiri Kylian: three dancing couples introduce elements of folk dance to the music of Antonin Dvorak.
