演出简介
Three debuts in Grafenegg on one evening: the London Philharmonic Orchestra will guest perform with its Music Director Vladimir Jurowski and acclaimed cellist Truls Mørk with works by Dvorák and Tschaikovsky.
Two highlights from the Romantic orchestra repertoire are on the agenda: what may be considered the most famous concerto of cello literature, Dvořák’s op. 104, which was written in the USA soon after the symphony «From the New World», is followed by Tchaikovsky’s moving Fifth.
There’s a special feeling in the air when you step through the gates of Grafenegg to plunge into the open atmosphere of this Music Festival. Here is a fascinating combination of past and future, tangible in the contrast between the old castle and the modern open-air stage, Wolkenturm. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
