When one looks at Earth from the moon, it seems to be standing on its head.

Physically, that's just pure nonsense, yet it makes delightful subject matter for an opera buffa, in which everything seems to be sheer lunacy. Johanna von der Deken transforms the piece that Joseph Haydn tailored for his audience at Esterháza, creating a piece of opera for children. The characters are crazy, the plot is hilarious and the setting is contemporary. A contribution to Haydn Year for children, yet at no stage childish.
