The Freiburger Barockorchester, one of today's finest baroque orchestras, will perform works of Beethoven and Mendelssohn as they might have sounded in the composers' lifetimes.

Beethoven's Third Symphony "Eroica" in the hands of the Freiburger Barockorchester is lighter, played on period instruments. In the first part of the concert the charming Mendelssohn piano concerto offers an opportunity to discover an extraordinary pianist-harpsichordist-fortepianist from South Africa, Kristian Bezuidenhout, who won first prize at the 2001 Musica Antiqua International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges.
