Giuseppe Verdi's well-known opera "Aida" will presented in this year's season at the Oper Leipzig.

The opera is situated in Egypt in the times of the pharaohs. Aida, an Ethiopian princess, is captured and brought into slavery by the commander Radames in Egypt. But Radames falls in love with the beauty and therefore struggles to choose between his love for her and his loyalty to the Pharaoh.
