This is the music salon of the Mendelssohn's family, where many famous persons were guests, for example Robert Schumann, Clara Wieck, Franz Liszt, also Richard Wagner, musicians of the Gewandhaus orchestra, teachers of the Leipzig university, of the conservatory - all representatives of the progressive bourgeoisie in Leipzig.
Sunday concerts took place here and we follow this tradition with concerts on every sunday morning at 11 o'clock.
